Three months in!

It's hard to believe that it's been three months since I started all of this.

It's both gone by in a blink of an eye but also felt like the longest three months of my life. I have learned so much about how to manage my time, what businesses are looking for in 2026, where my strengths (and weaknesses) lie and also become incredibly aware of just how competitive the market is.

But I have also achieved some wonderful things in my short time! Firstly, as you know, I launched a YouTube Channel - Ready Mixed Gaming - which includes a regular web-series (Mixed Emotions) a new Podcast (Shared Experiences) and some gaming long-plays! I even put together a video about how gaming helped me grieve the loss of my dad.

I've also been working with two main clients - Raw Fury and Wales Interactive. Both of whom have been incredibly supportive and we've been able to collaborate in lots of fun and exciting ways!

I've been looking after the TikTok channels for both KuloNiku and Deep Dish Dungeon in recent months, experimenting with fun content as both games prepare for their respective launches. I have also been doing some fun social content for Wales Interactive for their brand new game announcement - Into the Slimy Mines.

All of the above games featured during the recent Steam Next Fest, so I've been helping the teams with written content, blog posts, scripts, and strategising as they try to get their games seen and played during one of the most exciting and competitive periods. This has also extended into responding to issues on forums, in Discord, and tracking / logging these issues to help our teams optimise future updates.

Further still, with Into the Slimy Mines, I've also been working with the team on long term strategy, building a brand plan and pitching deck. And have extended that work to other titles in the Wales Interactive portfolio, some of which I can't talk about just yet!

Beyond that, I've been working on a few other projects. I've recently offered some consultancy to a well known development house working on their first game, preparing for their next major beat. I've done some playtesting, prepared a mock review, some narrative consultancy, all while pitching, and having extensive dialogue with potential clients to get the word out about what I'm doing.

I've even found time to slot in guest appearences on a podcast or two...

It's been busy! I've worked most weekends in 2026 and I still don't feel like there's enough hours in the day. Which is sort of wild ... But it's been lovely to get such wonderful feedback and most importantly, genuinely help the teams who need an extra set of hands. I'm so grateful for these opportunities and wouldn't change a thing about it.

That said, there are some changes coming which I'll talk more about in a few weeks. RMC will still very much be running but in a slightly different way. At least for the forseeable.

Hope you're all staying safe. Have a great weekend!

Ray
